Howard University Golf Team

Since 1997, CAPE has worked with some of the best athletes, founders and executives to consistently help people and teams reach peak performance.

Julie Elion has developed one of the premier performance coaching practices in the professional golf world. She has worked with half of the top 10 earners of all time. Julie has worked with athlete’s that have won over $500m in career earnings, 150 PGA Tour wins, and 25 Major Championship wins over the course of her 25-year career.

At CAPE, we understand that the inside world of feelings and thoughts directly influences physical and athletic performance. These influences are modifiable and can be optimized through insight, communication, and awareness. The applicability of integrity and focus within each individual leads to improvements in one’s life and ultimately translates into improvements in all endeavors.

Julie founded the Center for Athletic Performance Enhancement in 1997. Her philosophy is based upon helping an individual gain insight into their sport, character, family, and relationships and then use these insights to become a resilient athlete and a more fulfilled person. Julie integrates classical sport psychology tools (e.g., pre-shot routines, course management, and visualization) that are focused on behavioral and cognitive cues, with a deeper appreciation and understanding of oneself. Julie helps to prepare her players for success by focusing on believing in themselves first as a person, and second as an athlete.

CAPE offers complete psychological, psychometric, and physical evaluations to assist in a thorough evaluation of individual players and members of teams. A specific program will then be designed based on the psychological needs of each individual and/or team.
